A simple & Effective goal Setting Formula.
A simple & Effective goal Setting Formula.
The act of setting goals is what activates the guided missile portion of our minds. The burning desire we have to accomplish the goals we set for ourselves is the fuel that propels us toward them and helps us break through any barriers.
Another key ingredient is to make our goals believable. Yes, we need to set audacious goals that will blow us away, but the goals need to be believable to our conscious mind so we don’t quickly dismiss it. The best part about goal setting and goal getting is that once you reach your goal, you simply set another one! It never ends!
Try the following simple exercise. All it will take is some discipline on your part. By the way, I originally learned this from the great Brian Tracy. Get a spiral notebook and begin to write out your goals as if they already exist. If you want to have $1,000,000.00 in the bank then write; “I have $1,000,000.00 in the bank.” Next you’ll put a date next to the goal. Then your conscious and subconscious mind will get to work on making that goal a reality as long as you believe it!
The conscious mind will go to work by thinking of the different ways you can make it happen. So if you set the goal to have the $1,000,000.00 ten years from now your conscious mind my suggest ideas such as earning an extra $10,000 per month for the next eight years that you can put into the bank. Your subconscious mind will go to work a little differently though…
Your subconscious mind will work in ways that almost seem magical. When you write and re-write a goal over and over again the subconscious, acting as your guiding device will bring into your life the people and circumstances necessary to achieve your goal. It may work in crazy ways too.
For example, many from scratch millionaires have gone broke trying to accomplish their dreams. Going broke taught them the valuable skills and the appreciation of money that is needed to reach and stay in the millionaires’ club! Without the earlier misfortunes they would not have accomplished what they did.
Write your goals a few days a week and cement them into your subconscious so your subconscious will go to work for you. Then follow your hunches, keep reading, and have your mind open for opportunities to help you reach your goals that much faster!
