Stop Messing Around and Get On With It

So you’ve made a decision to start something or you’ve made a decision to stop something, now what? Did you know that a lot of people just leave it at that? They make decisions and never follow the decision up with any action.

This scenario plays out all the time. In business, family, everywhere.

There are behaviors in your life now, that if you simply stopped doing them or cut back on them would positively impact your health, finances, business and career. If you decide to stop over-eating you’ll impact your waist-line. If you decide to stop buying five dollar cups of coffee you’ll end up with more money in your pocket at the end of the week. If you decide to stop surfing the internet during hours that are supposed to be productive your business will improve. If you decide to stop letting co-workings distract you all day your career will improve.

Once you decide to stop something the action step required is to replace that “something” with “something” else.

So to use the examples above you’ll have to start eating slower and enjoying every bite. Brewing your own coffee will save you money. You’ll have to replace surfing the web with making phone calls or writing down and then acting on ideas. To keep the co-workers from the distracting you’ll have to shut your door. The point is this…

Whether you decide to start doing something or stop doing something you really must act or else it was all for nothing.

So what have you decided on recently?

There has to be something, because we’re all deciding everyday! Have you acted on the decision? Have you taken the first step?

You’re Not Waiting For Things To Be Perfect and Using That As An Excuse Are You??

Too many people wait for the perfect time. I’m guilty, you’re guilty, we’re all guilty. The truth is the time will never be “just right” to do anything. It’s that old bit about waiting for all the lights to be on green before you start off toward your destination. You’ll never get there because you’re bound to run into a red light soon or later.

I am doing my best to stop messing around and get on with it. I hope this article helps you do the same.
